The exhibition displayed an extensive collection of Chinese Toggles, small ornaments traditionally carved to serve as counterweights on cords affixed to belts in classic Chinese attire.

The exhibition brief consisted of the production and installation of various components of work. 3D lettering emulating the Jade stone, wall graphics, object labels and vinyl cut didactics.

This exhibition came with its challenges. To emulate jade stone was not an easy feature to create, a whole lot of trial and error and a multitude of different mixtures of resin in tints of green and white were poured into silicon moulds. Timing and mixing ratios were the most crucial.

Standout features

The 3D letters were created by pouring colour tinted epoxy resin into silicon moulds to emulate the look of Jade stone.

The object labels consisted of laser cut, direct printed green acrylic and a printed frosted vinyl that was then applied on-site to acrylic panels to sit inside showcases. The vinyl cut lettering component of the job comprised both the English and Chinese languages cut in a matte black and also green which complemented the green acrylic labels also present in the exhibition.
